help with my blackberry bold 9000?
i use at&t as my cell phone service provider. i recently got a blackberry bold 9000. i had to get rid of my iphone because of the $30.00 extra fee for the data plan. since i dont have a data plan on my bb now, i can only connect to wifi to use yahoo messenger or myspace (and thats only with actually going to the website.) is there ne way at all that i can fix it to where i can actually download the myspace or yahoo apps to my bb and actually USE it? it lets me download the apps, but does not let me log on. pleaseee help me!
There are certain applications for the BlackBerry that will work via Wi-Fi, and others won’t. The applications created by RIM (the makers of BlackBerry devices) for Yahoo and MySpace require a BlackBerry data plan in order to work. They won’t work via Wi-Fi. This also is true of the other RIM-created instant messaging applications and the Facebook application.
There is chat program called BeeJiveIM that works over Wi-Fi, and it allows you to connect to Yahoo! Messenger, AIM, Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk and others. It costs $20 for a single-device license, and $30 for a lifetime license.
