Iphone Apps Troubleshooting

Help with iPhone troubleshooting?
I went to update my apps and now for the past three day they all still say “waiting…” and none if them have loaded. I’ve tried downloading a free app thinking it was a glitch but no response from the other apps. Also a few apps including fb (not the same ones trying to load) close themselves as soon as I try and open them taking me back to the home screen. This is super annoying and any help would be greatly appreciated!
Ok, first off. turn off your ipod, shut it down completely. then turn it back on and plug the USB in to your USB port, go onto Itunes if you have itand update your ipod, the apps would of stoped downloading but still your iPhone should work!
